The 20% hallucinations/glitches/errors that humans try to resolve could also become an interesting dimension of the materiality of the medium just like scratches in film and vinyl. In Creative AI I’ve seen many artists purposefully leaving these seams in to expose the system, that gives me hope that the human eye and capacity to discern what is beautiful, timeless is editorially needed for 100% meaning.
Thanks for the thoughts Priya! I agree completely, and wrote about that idea of embracing/exploring the glitches in my "Keep AI Weird" post (https://ammon.substack.com/p/keep-ai-weird). And I love the links and call-out to artists highlighting the digital version of vinyl pops and dust scratches! My wife has been exploring this idea in her latest art series as a collaboration with an algorithm (https://photolp.com/project/the-reverse-of-a-ruin).
